September 28, 2015

This week was one of the most joyful weeks of my life! I have been so very blessed to see the had of God in every part of the work out here. This week we had a lesson with a 19 year old named Ximena.

Early lecciones she told us that she wants to get baptized next year because she doesent feel ready. we knew there was a bigger problem and tried to figure it out. we returned this week and had prepared the Hellfire leccion haha our last effort to get her baptized because if she wouldnt complete her compromismos we were goning to have to stop coming by. We were right about to say a prayer when right before she said oh ya, i have my answer! Earlier indications had me feeling that she was definetly gonna say no. after the prayer my head was down and i was super bummed when all of the sudden she whsipers, "Can i get baptised this saturday? my head shot up and didnt believe what i heard me and my comp just looked at eachother with huge mouths and she was like, I can get baptized right? haha we couldnt belive it. she went on to tell us that she had prayed and read the Libro de Mormon and had a feeling that she needs to change. she had some really bad friends really fighting her on this so she didnt want to do it until she felt the Holy Spirit testify to her. It was amazing! We had the baptisimal service last night and i was the lucky one able to baptize her. GOD IS SO GOOD. I went to the bathroom to change after and offerd a prayer of gratitud, i feel like a fruitcake saying this but i cried actual tears of joy. theres nothing more beatiful then someone right after a baptsim. perfect. absolutly perfect.

Other than that we have had an awesome week. the old couple i talked about last time are so funny. manual calls his wife mi negrita wich is like little black thing haha its so awesome. Sira (His Wife) Told us that we are her new sons and she has taken us under her wing haha they came to church and loved it!

We are wanting to buy Rollerblades to get to places faster but do you know how stupid we would look? Especially me! Haha i would look like something escaped form a zoo lol.

Anyways i love you guys so much!
My challenge for this week is for you guys to go out of your way and try to share the gospel with one person. just one person. I promise as you leave your comfort zone you will be lifted so high by the Lord!

LOVE YOU GUYS

Elder Noel

Thanks for the reports dad. mom ahs the story of the baptism but ime gonna send it again in the group email becasue it was such a miracle! Things are good here. Elder Parra is staying wich means 7 1/2 months in the hardest sector there is haha it was hard for him at first but were just putting our heads down and going to work and all is working out! We have been given miracles and i think the lord is really gonna pay Elder Parra for his patience and dilligence this transfer! yah good for Utah honestly they sound legit. idk how they do it... we will get there! So sad for chuckie. so sad. wish we had garretson! Anyways im doing good dad. i work on getting better eveery day and just gradually improving one step at a time. i think one thing i did back home was be extremly happy or compeletly sad. here im really working on graduall improvement and im so much happier because of it. I love missionary work and my least favourite part of the day is when we are just looking for somehting to do because it means we havent done our job of securing appointments or planned well enough. i have alot to improve but right now am really happy where im at. i love you so much dad. i feel your prayers so much!

LOVE YOU
Elder Noel

from Dad,
Sounds like you’ve caught the missionary spirit. You’re doing awesome. How are you emotionally? Are you still struggling with some homesickness or to you feel more comfortable?

from Cole,
I feel alot more comfertable right now. My hardest thing im working on is doing stuff for god. sometimes the first thoughts that come to my head are, wow moms gonna be so proud to hear about the baptism. and im trying to stop that and jsut give it to god. patiently building!

from Dad
Good. Don’t beat yourself up too much regarding wanting to make mom happy or proud, etc. Of course you want to make mom happy and proud. Most good sons do. We are supposed to honor our mother and our father, and by doing so you want to please them by doing what is right and what they have taught you. I believe our Heavenly Father understand this. However, you are also developing a love for your Heavenly Father and want to please Him is good, too. That is a good trait you are learning, but don’t let it get to you too much.

from Cole,
yah thanks dad! sometimes emotionally its tough. this work is not easy and is the hardest thing ive ever done but in the moment i feel the worst i feel gods love the most and it help me so much. he really is the answer. he is the help. he is search and rescue. I never realized this before my mission i really didnt. its like 2 nefi 22.

From Dad,
Well, it sounds like you are learning a lot already. I’m proud of you. You’ve already grown quite a bit. Keep up the great work and remember to have some fun along the way.

Love you.

Mom,
This week was honestly amazing. We hade 8 investigators attend church and about 5 of them have baptism dates. The baptism was a miracle mom. Ximena is a 19 year old girl who didnt want to get baptised. she wanted to change but was scared of what her friends might think. she told us baisically she wants to get baptised next year haha we had prepared a final lesson and were ready to give it our all. we got to her house sat down and she said, oh y tambien yo tengo mi respuesta! i have my answer! It was the first time an investigator has told me that and i thought it was gonna be bad haha after the pray i had my head down and she told us that she wants to get baptised this week. she felt the spirit really strongly one day at work reaing the BOM! My head shot up and could not believe it! I had the biggest smile on my face and still do haha. We had the baptism and it was amazing. Elder Parra wanted me to baptise her because it would be my first real baptism. it was amazing!

So yah Elder Parra didnt get transferd! He is going to have 7 1/2 months in this sector. he couldnt believe it haha he goes home next transfer! I cant believe all my friends are leaving and im so proud of them! I LOVE YOU MOM!

Cole is so excited!
